The Adriatic Riviera is stunning stretch of coastline on the east coast of Italy. Unlike the west coast Neapolitan Riviera, the beaches here have golden sands rather than pebbles. Rimini...

Rimini is the longest-established and most popular destination for Adriatic Riviera holidays. The resort superbly balances being great for families with being a lively party hotspot. It features Fiabilandia theme park, water sports aplenty, as well as a whole lotta nightclubs packed with young revellers.

Its beach, the15km long La Marina has soft, golden sands and is divided between family-orientated sections and quieter, more secluded spots. Ideal for families with kids, La Marina is lined with excellent facilities, plus kids' playgrounds, shops, restaurants and shops. The beach is well-furnished with sun beds and loungers, which you can usual rent by the day.

Cattolica...

Half an hour away is the medieval town of Cattolica, ideal for a spot of culture and history on your Adriatic Riviera holiday. Said to have been founded in Roman times, it has lots of interesting historic remnants including a beautiful cathedral built in the 13th century. Cattolica has classically Italian narrow streets and piazzas, packed full of bustling little shops, cafés and restaurants. There is a long, wide beach with pristine golden sands and family-friendly amenities.

Riccione...

Stylish Riccione is one coast's premier resorts, and home to a painstakingly manicured sandy beach that is never less than perfect. There's plenty to do for families here including the Aquafan water park, although it comes into its own as a party resort. Riccione has a glamorous nightlife, with particular fondest for big open air-clubs on the beach. The main shopping street is Viale Ceccarini, which has many boutiques and designer stores.
