Altinkum is an attractive beach town on Turkey's Aegean coast. Set around an idyllic horseshoe bay, it is a favourite with couples and families on beach holidays. It has a beautiful seafront with a bustling promenade and charming town centre, as well as numerous historical sites well worth a few days' sightseeing. Altinkum is around 90 minute's drive from the nearest airport.

Holidays to Altinkum revolve around its stunning, award winning beach. A wide stretch of white-gold sand, it is the perfect setting for long, lazy days of sunbathing. The water is calm and shallow, making it ideal for kids to swim and play in. The coast is a fantastic place to dive, and there are diving schools by the beach for all ability levels. Running parallel to the beach is the attractive seafront promenade, lined with shops, cafés and places to eat. The lively Dolphin Square is at the heart of the town centre. It is home to plenty of entertainment and is a lovely place to sit and watch the world go by. There is a colourful market on Saturdays that is the ideal place to browse for souvenirs.

Altinkum is well located for exploring the fascinating culture and history in the surrounding region. The breathtaking ruins of Ephesus are close by, and ten minutes outside the modern resort of Altinkum is the old quarter of the town, home to its most interesting attraction, the ancient Temple of Apollo. Dating back to the 10th century BC, it features the carved head of Medusa and is an unforgettable sight.

The nightlife in the town is located mainly on the seafront and in the main town square. There are plenty of pleasant beachfront bars to grab a drink in the warm evenings, as well as a choice of restaurants offering international cuisine as well as local specialties.
