The cosmopolitan capital of Europe, Brussels is a sophisticated city with a fantastic blend of cultures, a lively nightlife and a fast-growing reputation for good food. Deemed one of the most beautiful cities in Europe there is plenty to see on a short city-break to Brussels.

Take a walk along Rue des Chartreux, catch the changing of the guard at the Royal Palace or search for the bargains at Sablon Antiques Market. The city is a maze of narrow and atmospheric streets Divided into the Lower and Upper Towns that all centre round the magnificent Grand Place. The Upper Town is very grand with stunning buildings and open spaces, there are some fantastic places to eat but be prepared to pay a little more, down town is where daily life takes place, tourists spend most of their time down in Lower Town.

In the summer months the city's nightspots take on a life of their own, when there is so much going on and nothing seems able to keep the locals at home. Brussels is very different from the one-dimensional EU hub many imagine it to be - its mix pulls everything together in an offbeat, almost bizarre way.
