Czech Republic holidays...
GENERAL
One of the most popular destinations in Europe, the Czech Republic emerged from the separation of Czechoslovakia in 1993 to become a vibrant, fun and welcoming holiday destination. It's beauty, history and culture have seen it skyrocket to the top of everyone must-see lists.
The vast majority of travellers choose a holiday to the Czech Republic in order to explore its historic capital Prague. Make no bones about it - Prague is a magical, truly beautiful city, home to some of the finest architecture in Europe with a mix of Baroque, Medieval and Art Nouveau influences. Top attractions include the striking Prague Castle, which towers over the city, Charles Bridge and the bustling Old Town Square.
Prague's nightlife is justifiably famous, although there is also a strong arts scene, excellent dining options and many shopping opportunities. And yes, the beer is outstanding, and cheap. Prague is the first port of call on a Czech Republic holiday.
The country's second city, Brno, also enjoys a good range of museums and galleries, as well as an up-and-coming nightlife scene. The pace of life is slow in Brno, and the city offers a good place to catch a glimpse of 'real' Czech life away from the tourist crowds of Prague.
Cesky Krumlov is a small city is the South Bohemia region and is famed for its historic old town and castle, which have been designated a Unesco World Heritage site. A great choice for those interested in the region's rich history on a Czech Republic holiday.
