Set at the end of the Paznaun valley, in a picturesque location, Galtur is a family friendly resort offering snowsure skiing and a long, reliable season. At the base of the ski area, there are a collection of ski in-ski out hotels, ski school, ski hire and childcare services. Not only are the superbly groomed slopes great for all abilities from gentle nursery slopes to challenging off-piste, a dedicated ski area for the smallest of skiers offers special lifts and gentle slopes. Higher up, designated areas such as the magic fairytale woods encourage children to venture further up the mountain. Galtur is part of the Silvretta ski region. Just a 10 minute bus ride away is Ischgl and its lift-connected neighbour Samnaun across the Swiss border. The pretty village of Galtur, 2km from the ski base and on the bus route, offers great non-ski facilities including an indoor sports centre, adventure pool and exhibition centre. This is a fantastic, all-round resort that offers snowsure skiing, high quality accommodation and plenty of non-ski activities.

Galtur for Families
Galtur's ski area has a real family focus which is why it is one of our top recommended Family Resorts. The area around the base of the slopes is extremely compact and convenient for families, there are supervised options for non-skiing and skiing children, plus our Neilson Family Rep service ensures a great programme of apres-ski activities for families.
SKIING CHILDREN: Opposite the Hotel Wirlerhof is 'Siggi's Children's World, a children-only ski area with gentle slopes, slower lifts and lots of fun obstacles. The ski school offers a ski kindergarten where children from 3 years are offered fun, confidence-boosting coaching from experienced instructors. Six days x 4 hours, pre-bookable through Neilson (see ski pack panel for details). Other durations, plus lunch and lunchtime supervision can be organised locally at 9 euros per day.
NON-SKIING CHILDREN: The tourist office runs a bright, well-equipped, English-speaking creche next to the Hotel Wirlerhof. Here, non-skiing children from 2 years are kept amused with lots of games, toys, activities, arts & crafts etc. Opening hours are 9.30am to 12noon and 1.30pm to 4.30pm. Full and half days are available - prices 13 euros per day or 8.50 euros per half day. Full day care plus a supervised lunch at the Hotel Wirlerhof is also available at 21.50 euros per day (children must be able to feed themselves).
