  • Overview

Conquer the slopes of Mont Blanc in Europes' most renowned winter resort. Chamonix boasts some of the most beautiful and challenging terrain in the Alps - which explains its popularity with visitors from around the globe. With a high-performance lift and bus system giving swift access to five varied ski areas, every intermediate and advanced skier finds something to take their ability to the next level. A ride to the top of the 'Aiguille du Midi' cable car has to be tried while you're here; it's like visiting the top of the World! To complement the many mountain activities on offer, the village is crammed full of shops, bars, restaurants & nightclubs - it's exhilarating both on & off the slopes. Whether relaxing with a coffee while soaking up the stunning scenery or fuelling the lively apres ski till the early hours is your idea of fun, then this is the place.
Skiing on top of the World
The Vallee Blanche
If you are a good intermediate, then consider booking onto a guided group for the long, infamous 'Vallee Blanche' run down the glacier from the top of the 'Aiguille du Midi' cable car at 3840m, from where you set off along the ice ridge then ski back down to Montenvers just above Chamonix. It's a unique trip that you will remember for many years for the stunning view of the mountain summits as you exit the ice tunnel at the top of the cable car, to the distinctive distant jagged peaks as you descend onto the glacier with its crevasses and wonderful turquoise blue ice formations. Truly exhilarating! If you're not quite up to the full trip down the glacier, it's still well worth an outing to the top of the cable car where there is a cafe serving coffee at altitude!
