Of all the Fuerteventura resorts, Corralejo is certainly the liveliest. It is surrounded by turquoise waters, desert-like sand dunes and golden beaches which are over 3 km wide in some places and stretch for almost ten 10 km. With a choice of small beaches in the resort centre and the simply breathtaking 11 km of beautiful sand dunes just outside the resort, the premier tourist resort in Fuerteventura is simply bliss for watersports (including scuba diving and windsurfing) and beach loving holidaymakers.
Once a sleepy fishing village, Corralejo has developed over the years to become the largest resort on the island, with a range of facilities to match. There are plenty of shops and supermarkets for stocking up on local goods, plus a wide range of bars and restaurants. At night, the entertainment is varied enough to suit all tastes, with a couple of discos for those who want a more lively evening, plus local spots for those seeking a quieter time.
An ideal base for sightseeing, Corralejo also provides easy access to the peaceful back roads and beaches of Fuerteventura. The national park, which has some of the best sand dunes on the island, is only a short 4 km drive away.
