"On the shores of sparkling Lake Geneva, framed by a stunning mountain backdrop and magnificent scenery, lie captivating Geneva and magical Montreux. Whilst much of Geneva is modern and sophisticated, there is also the enchanting Old Town, which is full of cafés, bars and fine restaurants. Geneva boasts a good variety of museums, galleries, gardens and parks. Explore the Lake Geneva region and discover picturesque villages, fine vineyards and gourmet restaurants. With a mild winter climate and a warm welcome, Geneva is a superb short break choice. Must See A city tour by bus and mini train is a quick and efficient way to take in the sights of this sophisticated city including the Jet d'eau (weather permitting), the Flower Clock and the United Nations. The Patek Philippe museum, exhibiting important collections of horology, and the International Red Cross Museum, the only museum dedicated to the work of Henry Dunant, are both worth a visit. Must Do Shop in Geneva's Old Town for art and antiques or along the fashionable rue du Rhône for clothes, watches and chocolates. If you are there in December browse for gifts, crafts and decorations at the Christmas markets and also admire the 20 or so trees around the city, decorated by artists for the Christmas Tree Festival. To Relax What better place to relax in both Geneva than down on the lakefront; both have pleasant promenades and a variety of cafés. For a typical Swiss meal (fondue and raclette) in a chalet-style setting, the Edelweiss restaurant (Place de la Navigation, Geneva) is one of our favourites! Please Note: Rail travel is not included in the price of your holiday.
