Holidays to Alpe D'huez

One of France's largest alpine resorts, Alpe D'Huez is linked to the area known as Les Grande Rousses which has over 80 lifts and more than 240km of fantastic pistes. South-facing slopes make this resort a real L'ile au Soleil or Island in the Sun. 

A haven for groups of mixed abilities, on a ski holiday in Alpe D'Huez you have the choice of everything from Europe's longest black run, a variety of red and blue runs and nearly 30 gentle practice slopes for beginners and children. There is even a great open bowl for snowboarders; wild trails at the tip of the resort will test even the most advanced boarders.

Families will be delighted by the range of childcare facilities within the resort while for non-skiers there is a superb sports centre which has loads to offer from tennis, to squash, archery and even indoor golf. Other activities on a cheap holiday to Alpe D'Huez could include a marked walk; the mountain has excellent mountain access for non-skiers, or there is a cinema and many fashionable boutiques in the resort centre.

Full of action and lots of live music, Alpe D'Huez's après ski is second to none, finding a bar and restaurant to suit your family or group is not difficult. For those who miss their local bars and pubs, many bars have a British pub feel serving some fantastic varied cuisine. The resort centre is the place to be after the lifts have stopped running; excess energy is danced off in the many clubs that litter the main street.
