The incredible white sandy beaches of Costa Calma stretch for about twelve miles along the Fuerteventura coast, the clear waters lap against the shore and make this a haven for sun-worshippers and windsurfers.

The town is true beach resort; Playa Barca is to the southwest and is a particularly popular spot for windsurfers because of the strong off shore winds, but don't let that put you off even during peak season it easy to find a quiet sheltered part of the long sandy beach.

Care has been taken in the development of Costa Calma which is based around a small village called Canada Del Rio; the countryside has not disappeared under concrete, built up areas are separated by green zones that run the length of the resort and provide havens for wildlife as well as a pleasant walk through the town.

There is no central area thanks to the length of the town but there are several shopping centres with restaurants and shops that provide a nucleus for the immediate vicinity so you are never far away from the amenities essential for any package holiday to Costa Calma.
