If you are visiting Kauai for more than just the stunning scenery and beautiful beaches, then you won't be disappointed on a holiday to Hawaii. There are an endless number of attractions and sporting activities you can partake in whilst on holiday in Kauai. Horseback riding, scuba diving, windsurfing and fishing are just a few of the activities on offer, whilst for those of you looking for cultural attractions, you could take a visit to Captain Cook's Monument on the West Side, the National Tropical Botanical Garden on the South Shore or Kilauea Point National Wildlife Refuge on the North Shore.
The restaurants on the island are varied and plentiful, all serving the freshest ingredients served to local recipes, including fresh fish and seafood. Several of the restaurants also provide live entertainment while you dine, including luaus, hula shows and examples of traditional music.
Shopping tends to be on a smaller scale than the evening entertainment, with most shops selling authentic Hawaiian goods, although there are several shopping malls and Sunshine Markets (farmer's markets).
For those who love to surf, a holiday in Kauai wouldn't be complete without experiencing some of the hottest surfing spots on the island or taking lessons at the Surf School in Hanalei Bay.
