Beaches

Puerto Alcudia beach is the main beach in Alcudia and perhaps the best. It has fine white sand, delicate sea breezes and a stretch of beach also known as the Playa Deportivo (sport beach). Coll Baix beach is unspoiled, natural and a definite must-visit on holidays to Alcudia. It is not easily accessible, located on the promontory Cap de Pinar to the east of Alcudia old town, but well worth taking the time to find. A pebble beach, good for snorkelling and diving, S'Illot beach is located two kilometres past the marina Cocodrilo in Bonaire and another gem.

Places to see

Hidropark is a water park that is a must-see for family holidays to Alcudia. It has a variety of slides, chutes and pools and also offers 54-hole Super Golf. Rancho Grande on the edge of Ca'n Picafort is well worth a visit and offers not only horse-riding but also evening barbecues with sangria, line dancing and live music. For those who prefer Alcudia holidays to be a little more relaxing, why not enjoy a sail on the Robinson Boat? It will take you to coves with crystal clear water and white sands where you can dive and fish too.

Eating Out

It might not cost a fortune to eat in Alcudia but the restaurants will certainly make you feel like a million dollars here. Lunch and dinner are when local cooking comes into its own... and there is a strong reliance on vegetables and pork, both of which feature in the soups (sopas). Places to go include the Bodega D'es Port, where you can eat surrounded by fabulous views; or enjoy the Galicia tap as specialists of Casa Gallega in Puerto Alcudia; while more traditional fare is offered at Dallas Steak House (no prizes for guessing what's on the specials menu here...)

Shopping

The town of Alcudia and the resorts of Puerto Alcudia and Playa de Muro offer a rich shopping experience. Lots of stores offer hand-made, Mallorcan products and specialise in local crafts and jewellery. The big fashion names have arrived too, with international brand Adolfo Dominguez opening a store at the port. The harbour side is more lively, however, and bars such as sa Portessa, Mambo Playa and la Jarra Alcudia offer fantastic nigh time entertainment. For party animals, Apoteket is the place to be for late night music and dancing; while Bells is popular with locals and retains a very Spanish feel .
