It's a world away from some of the lively high-rise tourist resorts found farther down the coast. Nerja is somewhere that still retains a traditional Spanish charm, while the pace of life is slow and unhurried. Beautiful beaches...

The breathtaking Mediterranean coastline remains the no.1 star of a holiday to Nerja. It stretches for 16 glorious kilometres and enjoys fine golden expanses peppered with picturesque coves, perfect for exploring.

The main beaches are Torrecilla and Burriana, both of which have Blue Flag status and enjoy powder sands and transparent, calm Mediterranean waters. Plenty of water sports are available at the beaches including water skiing, scuba diving and sailing.

Balcony of Europe...

Nerja is famously the home of the Balcón de Europa (Balcony of Europe), a clifftop promenade where once a Moorish castle stood, which offers sensational panoramic views of the coastline and Sierra Almijara.

Nerja Caves...

Situated 3km from the town centre, the Nerja Caves are unmissable for any holiday to Nerja. A magnificent system of vast underground caverns with stalagmites, stalactites and Palaeolithic wall paintings that date back over 20,000 years.

Eating & drinking...

Although not a lively resort by Costa del Sol standards, if you do fancy a good night out the resort has plenty of great bars, as well as a few nightclubs. They're mainly concentrated around the unusually named Plaza Tutti Frutti. The dining is exquisite in Nerja. While the resort offers a wide choice of restaurants, traditional tapas bars are an important part of life and it's definately recommended you get stuck into their delicacies.
