Under a vast, vast sky, the sheer variety of holidays available in North America is breathtaking. From the thunder of Niagara Falls to the neon strip of Vegas, the great outdoors of British Columbia to the great shops of New York, the laid-back beaches of San Fran to the thrill-rides of Disney World, from the Rocky Mountains to rock 'n' roll, this is a land of endless possibilities

Vancouver is magnificently pristine and attractive city with a famously high quality of life. The city occupies a wonderfully scenic setting on the west coast, overlooked by commanding mountains and enjoys perfect beach stretches. As well as enjoying a top nightlife and great shopping , the city's location makes it the ideal base for those planning on exploring Canada's great outdoors or trying their hand at adventure sports.

In the east, you'll find Toronto, a glittering, cutting-edge metropolis that is Canada's largest city and the gateway to Niagara Falls. Father east in French-speaking Quebec is cosmopolitan and stylish Montreal, which enjoys a vibrant arts and music scene, and world-class dining.

Canada is home to some of the world's premier ski destinations, which is hardly surprising considering its vast mountain expanses of immense icy peaks and winter snows that can fall 40ft deep. The most famous names are Whistler in British Colombia, with its fearsome reputation for black runs and Alberta's Banff; with its spectacular Rocky Mountain runs and lively apres-ski.

South of the border, luxurious Aspen has been the glitzy light of American skiing for decades, although the huge and modern resort of Vail has begun to rival it in popularity, whilst Breckenridge provides one of the most picturesque settings imaginable.

East Coast or West Coast is an eternal question for holidays to America. On one hand you have the Big Apple; the City That Never Sleeps. Without a doubt one of the world's greatest metropolises, from the shows of Broadway to the shops of Fifth Avenue, via the observation deck of the Statue of Liberty; New York is the ultimate city break destination. A couple of hundred kilometres north is the lively, Celtic-influenced city of Boston, one of America's most underrated and riotously fun cities.

On the West Coast, the sun kissed 'Golden State' of California is a stunning region that incorporates everything from soaring mountain peaks to golden beaches, and colossal redwood forests to sun-baked deserts. Cosmopolitan and peerlessly vibrant, Los Angeles is the state's largest and most famous city and home to Beverly hills, Venice Beach, Disneyland, Hollywood and more. A memorable drive up Route 101 will bring you to chilled-out, bohemian San Francisco, easily one of the most beautiful cities in America.

Just over the border in Nevada is the 'World Capital of Entertainment', Las Vegas, America's very own Sin City. Rising out of the Mojave Desert with its dazzling casinos, kitsch monuments-from the Eiffel Tower to the Great Sphinx-and famous wedding chapels, this is a city where your enjoyment takes centre stage.

For family holidays, Florida is hard to beat, not just in the States, but for the world in general. Famously, Orlando is the theme park capital of the globe, home to Walt Disney World and Universal Studios, water parks and more! Sizzling Miami is one of America's most glamorous and flamboyant cities with world-class shopping, accommodation and nightlife, as well as spectacular sandy beaches. Alternatively, for your own slice of tropical paradise, do as the Americans do and head to the sun-soaked islands of Hawaii, idyllically located thousands of miles off the southwest coast in the Pacific Ocean.
