Riga also provides the perfect base from which to explore the lush National Park of Kemeri, famous for its rolling forests, mineral-rich springs and mud spas. Just to the west of the city, you'll find the spectacular Baltic Sea resort of Jurmala, home to a breathtaking 33km stretch of fine white sands and gentle, shallow waters.
