Holidays to Stockholm

There are so many museums in Stockholm that it's hard to know where to begin when taking a holiday here. Every aspect of traditional and modern Swedish life is covered here, from silk weaving to architecture. One of the most popular is the Swedish Museum of National History. Despite the number of museums, it is hard to overlook the other gems the city has to offer. 

A city break to Stockholm should always include a trip to the Royal Palace, complete with its own treasury of crown jewels. One of the most effective ways to see the city, however, is probably by guided tour and there are many of these available; from horse and carriage rides to open bus and canal tours.

For those that are planning a family break to Stockholm, there are plenty of attractions that will amuse the whole family. The Gröna Lund amusement park is a must, although younger children will appreciate the Bergianska Botanical Gardens and the Skansen open air museum complete with its own zoo.

There are a number of large shopping malls in the city; however some of the smaller shops are worth exploring, particularly to pick up some designer Swedish goods and unique art and furniture.

In the evenings, a holiday in Stockholm is a culinary delight, with a multitude of top class restaurants serving international cuisines, or there is always the possibility of relaxing with a drink at a street side café. There are also an impressive array of bars and music clubs, as well as a big casino with its own restaurant and bar.
