Holidays to Geneva

Geneva is one of the most vibrant cities in Switzerland, not simply because of the cultural opportunities provided by the numerous museums, galleries and the headquarters of the United Nations, but also because of the fabulous restaurants, shopping opportunities and an abundance of beautiful parks dotted around the city itself.

A summer holiday in Geneva would not be complete without sampling the delightful views of the lakefront, including the magnificent water fountain, which when fully lit in the evening provides a spectacular photo opportunity. In addition to this, the self- proclaimed centre of art and culture boasts some stunning architecture in the form of the Grand Theatre and Victoria Hall.

There are numerous guided tours of the city available, including cable car rides, walking tours, bicycle and minitrain excursions, so even if you only visit Geneva for a weekend break, your days will be fun-filled. And if you're lucky, you may be in Geneva for one of the many carnivals and festivals held throughout the year, such as the Hot Air Balloon Fiesta or the Geneva Carnival.

If it's evening entertainment you're after, the energetic nightlife includes a wealth of lively bars, nightclubs, cinemas and cabaret shows.
