Treviso has a beautiful city centre, with the medieval square, Piazza dei Signori at its heart. The social and sightseeing core, the street comes to life in summer with cafés and bars. It features shaded arcades and impressive buildings like the former seat of Government, Palazzo dei Trecento, which ad to its pleasant atmosphere. A number of alleys lead off and wind through the old town, featuring little market stalls and pavement cafés.

Historic attractions...

The city's two main examples of religious architecture are the striking Venetian-Gothic church, San Nicolo, and the cathedral. The latter has beautiful 16th century frescos and an ancient crypt. Beside the cathedral is an interesting little museum, Museo Diocesano l'Arte Sacra, which houses a number of interesting religious artefacts.

Explore the canals...

Treviso's winding, attractive little canals are a lovely place to walk on sunny days. You can explore several interesting neighbourhoods nearby, such as the old Quartiere Latino and many of the city's signature antique villas. Exploring the canal banks and neighbourhoods on bike is a popular way to sightsee.

A little wine tour...

Around half an hour north of the city is the pretty town of Conegliano, which is a great place for a day trip on Treviso holidays. The town is in a thriving wine country, and there's lots of place to try a local Prosecco or two. Conegliano also has a number of relaxed wine bars and shops that are fun to explore.

Eating out...

Treviso is a wonderful place to eat, with many little cafés and delis for snacks and people-watching during the day. Visit the Piazza dei Signori and surrounding streets for hidden gems. You'll also find traditional pizzerias and locally-run trattorias with alfresco dining, which is particularly popular on warm summer evenings.
